AFOS Foundation meets The Tony Elumelu Foundation in Nigeria:
Bruno Wenn, Chairman of the AFOS Board of Trustees, who is also Advisory Board Member of The Tony Elumelu Foundation, and Bernhard Vester, Director of AFOS Africa, were hosted by the organization’s founder, Tony Elumelu, and its CEO Ifeyinwa Ugochukwu. Both partners agreed on a closer collaboration of the two foundations.
The Tony Elumelu Foundation, founded in 2010, is an Africa funded philanthropic organization, which focuses on supporting entrepreneurs in Africa by enhancing the competitiveness of the private sector.

After seven years of fruitful cooperation of AFOS Foundation, BMZ, sequa gGmbH, BKU e. V., Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) as well as other Filipino chambers and associations the OURFood Project was officially ended on 30th September. The AFOS staff is very proud of the success the vocational training partnership programme has achieved. In the course of the programme, which is a foundation for a sustainable developemet in the Filipino food sector, the involved farmers have obtained practices that they will keep on implementing in their own business and that they will teach and pass on to other farmers.
Abuja, 5 October 2018: AFOS receives the “Partership Award” from CEO and founder of HASAL MFB in occasion of the 10th anniversary of the bank. AFOS Foundation, which has contributed significantly to the qualification of the management team, is the most important partner of HASAL MFB.
Abuja, 3 August 2018: Award for the personal commitment of Bernhard Vester (center) for the microfinance sector in Nigeria and his contributions to the annual meeting of microfinance banks. Highlighted in a special way was the “Exposure-Trip” for federation representatives and manager of the Central Bank to Ghana, which had been co-financed by AFOS.
Abuja, 3 August 2018, in occasion of the annual meeting of microfinance banks: Nigerian Microfinance Bank Federation President Roger Nwoke (left) hands the “Microfinance Capacity Building Support Award 2018“ to Bernhard Vester for AFOS in Africa. The award honors the AFOS Fundation’s outstanding commitment in founding the „Microfinance Learning and Development Centres“ (MLDC), as a training institution of the sector as well as profound qualification of more than 200 managers and new recruits of the biggest microfinance banks in Nigeria.
