The AFOS Foundation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The AFOS Foundation has been promoting corporate development cooperation in Africa, Asia and Latin America for over 20 years. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our roots go back to the 1990s, when committed entrepreneurs from the Federation of Catholic Entrepreneurs (BKU) founded the initiative “Africa Fund for Self-Employment” (AFOS). <\/strong> The aim was to provide micro and small enterprises with better access to finance and markets<\/strong> \u2013 as a basis for economic and social development. The initiative advocated at the political level for microfinance services <\/strong>in development cooperation. Facilitating access to microcredit and improving the legal framework for private-sector microfinance investments were therefore our first priorities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since its official establishment as a foundation in 2003<\/strong>, we have been supporting small businesses and promoting the professional qualification of young people, especially women. Our focus is on sustainable business, the creation of stable jobs and tackling global challenges such as climate change and the causes of flight. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Financed by public grants and private donations, we work closely with proven partners such as sequa and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n
